Personal Reflection

Personal Reflection:

I wanted to take a moment today and reflect back on this AMAZING month that I have been so blessed to receive. The month of March 2011 for me has been filled with new beginnings, reunions, and the expansion of my life. My life has consisted of so much variety, togetherness, and possibility. Through the experiences of this month, I have seen the personal growth, courage, and the strength within myself and my character. One of the greatest things that I have created is, "Insights By Ish" which has opened up my world and me. I have also been able to feel the experience of love and connection again which has filled my heart. Lastly, I am so thankful and blessed to be surrounded by the best, most supportive, and loving family and friends. For me, I could not let this month go by and transition into the next part of my journey without acknowledging and appreciating all my great blessings that I am so grateful to have received! In this moment, I just want to say thank you to God, Universe, Time, myself and all my readers for making all this possible!

As my world continues to grow, so do I!....Ish

Completion

Completion:

In life, when we have a emotional reaction to something it is usually a result of a unresolved matter triggering from our past. Our emotions are sensitive feelings that react when something feels out of balance or uncomfortable. Its funny because there is no simple way to control or foresee our emotions because we usually become aware of our actions after our reactions; however, there is a way to feel complete within yourself. I believe if a person is able to "step out the box" and objectively become present to what is occurring then they give themselves the power to take control of the situation and emotion. To be able to listen to what part of "you" is reacting and asking for attention is when you can begin to understand and complete what is missing. You are in charge of yourself! I believe that we learn from every situation that life brings us and it is important for us to complete life's experiences to the best of our ability and not have lingering pieces because all it builds up too is a leftover residue of emotions resulting from the past. Completion allows us to be free, clear, and evolve to the next level!  I enclose this article with: wishing everyone a great day, stay attentive to your needs, and let love flow freely through you.

Be open to love!....Ish

Silky Shiny Hair

For My Ladies:

Happy Friday My Beautiful Ladies! It doesn't matter if we have long or short hair as long as it is maintained, beautiful, and healthy. We do our best to use the best shampoos, conditioners, and hair products but sometimes our hair needs some extra love. In our busy schedules today we need quick, fast, and lasting results.  Instead of trying and buying a bunch of different products you can use coconut which has endless natural benefits. Here are a few tips that will help your hair grow, shine, and look silky.

Polished 2 Perfection Tips:

1. Make a Coconut Hair Mask
*Buy coconut milk, pour in a bowl, and refrigerate overnight (do not cover)
Apply: the next day to hair as a "hair mask" and leave for 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition.
Result: Silky, Shiny Hair

2. Hot Oil Treatment at Home
* Heat coconut oil and apply to wet hair, cover with a shower cap and take a blow dryer and blow dry hair.
Result: Silky Silky Hair

Have a great weekend and I will have a Insight on Monday!

Determination

DETERMINATION:

We have all heard the saying, "that if there is a will there is a way" so how do we keep ourselves determined in achieving?  I believe when you really want something that it has to come from the core of who you are and you have to be able to keep yourself motivated and focused no matter how many surprises or  challenges come your way. To believe in your dreams is to believe in yourself! There will always be tests and distractions in life, but it is upon us to bring ourselves back to what our initial focus is and re-center ourselves to keep our vision clear. I think when a person is able to revert themselves back to there initial reason and want then they have achieved in determination, a higher part of their self, and found a new will for their way!

Love Your Lips

Love Your Lips

Lips are a important focal point on our face but also difficult to maintain. They are difficult to maintain because they have no oil or sweat glands but are always exposed to pollution and irritants. Like our skin it is important to keep our lips exfoliated and moisturized to prevent aging, chapping, or dryness. Here are a few tips to keep your lips polished to perfection at all times.

Polished 2 Perfection Tips:

Goal: Moisturized Lips

You will need:
1.  Baking soda
2.  Olive oil
3.  Honey

Procedure/ Apply:

1. Exfoliate: Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of olive oil together and gently rub over lips

2. Hydrate: Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and olive oil and apply to lips ( leave on lips like a hydrating balm)

Result: Full, shiny, and moisturized lips

By the way, to report back on the glowing article:  My weekend was AMAZING and the mask contributed to my natural glow!

Check In....

Check In Point:

On Monday, I began the week by writing an article on getting a jump start and setting a "goal of the week". It is Friday now and I think it is important to do a check in and see where everyone is at with their goals. Personally, my goal of the week was to read two magazines for research and do a layout for "Insights by Ish". I accomplished thoroughly in reading the magazines and wrote about it but I have not done my layout yet. However, I still have a feeling of accomplishment because I completed and eliminated one of my tasks. So for those who participated in this exercise, I suggest you to do a check in with yourself, see where you are at with your goal, and keep in mind that the week is not over and we still have until Sunday to complete our goal.  Have a wonderful and safe weekend and I will have a Polished to Perfection tip on Monday!

Work as hard as you play!

Get the Glow!!!!!

Famous Bollywood Actress: Rani Mukherjee

I woke up this morning and remember thinking about the big weekend that I have ahead of me and wondering about what I can do to make my skin be at its absolute finest and have the most radiant glow. And when I mean glow, I mean shining at its finest! So instead of using a mask that I have at home, I decided to do some research and put together the fastest and easiest formulas to get my results. So here is what I came up with and what my evening will be consisting of. I will try these new remedies and report back on Monday with the results.

Polished 2 Perfection Tips:

Goal: Get a glowing face

You will need:
1. Water
2. Herbs ( lavender, eucalyptus, etc)
3. Honey ( 2 tablespoons)
4. Banana (1)
5.Green Tea (1 bag)

Procedure / Apply:

1. Have a at Home Herbal Steam Facial
* wash your face (with an exfoliating cleanser if you can to remove dead cells), pull you hair back, and boil some herbs in a pot with hot water. Take a towel, cover your head over the pot (not to close) and sit for 15 minutes and let the steam penetrate in your skin. After steam, do not touch or apply anything to face and just let it sit for at least 10 minutes ( all your pores are open).

2. Make a Homemade Mask. While your face is purifying, make a mixture of 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 banana. Apply to your face and neck. Wash after 15 minutes and we should see an instant glow!
*Banana = contains lots of B6, B12 vitamins
*Honey = rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C

3. Drink a cup of Green Tea
*Rich in antioxidants and vitamins

4. Relax

Enjoy your glow!

Believe & Succeed

Make Money Online:

I was reading two magazines last night which were: Small Business Opportunities and Entrepreneur. I found that they both consisted of a lot of interesting information but were very similar to one another. The main message in both magazines was that in today's society there are many resources to make money online and all you really need is a computer, a interest, and the options are endless to make money. Small business opportunities magazine referred to the concept of making money online as "online goldmines". Also with the expansion of social media it is easy to build and advertise for your business and not have to pay for marketing. The interesting part is that the capacity and growth of a business actually depends on a person's belief, dedication, and determination to the business. There are many other factors involved in developing a business but the resources are available if a person is interested and willing.  So I enclose this article with a few tips that I summarized from my reading and wish everybody the best of luck in pursuing their endeavors.

Ish's Business 101 Tips:
1. Research your business
2. Know your competition
3. Enjoy and be passionate about what you are pursing
4. Go for it!!!!!

5 Easy Tips to Maintain Healthy Skin:

5 Easy Tips to Maintain Healthy Skin:

Maintenance is the hardest part in any regimen we do because it requires discipline and consistency. However there are a few simple things that we can do everyday to help maintain beautiful healthy skin. Here are 5 tips that I use and believe are useful:

Beauty Tips:

1. Drink plenty of water = water is naturally very good for your body, it also hydrates the skin and helps maintain the elasticity of your skin.

2. Eat fruits = fruits are filled with natural vitamins and antioxidants that do wonders for your skin and health.

3. Wash your face everyday/night = I suggest in the morning before you begin your day and at night before you go to sleep. This removes all bacteria and dirt that your skin may have produced or came in contact with.

4.  Moisturize = moisturizers hydrate the skin which make the skin look and feel more radiant. Always wear sunscreen or use a moisturizer that has SPF to prevent skin damage.

5. Pillow cases / Towels = change at least once a week if not every other day. As we sleep our skin produces oils that our pillow cases absorb throughout the night and it is important to change them or else old bacteria gets into fresh skin which causes breakouts. (Personal tip: sleep on a silk pillow case because it absorbs less moisture and oils than cotton)

There you have it, my personal guideline!

Jump start your week!

Good Morning Everyone,

Yes it is Monday but that doesn't mean that it is a bad thing. This actually allows us to start the week off fresh and let go of everything that previously took place. So lets regroup and refuel ourselves because we have a new blessed day and week to look forward too. I would like to suggest a mini exercise for everyone that is very beneficial. If there is something that you have been procrastinating on or a personal project that needs attention then this is the time to make it happen.  I suggest that you focus on one thing and make it the goal of the week. Write the goal and what you would like to achieve in an area where you can see it everyday and then work towards it. Stay consistent and persistent in accomplishing your goal and give it attention everyday. When you accomplish your goal  reward yourself with something because you totally deserve it! Just a tip: incase you slip a little bit... pick yourself up, get back on track and remember you have until Sunday to accomplish!

Have a great day and make it count!

Say Goodbye to Winter Dry Skin!

Personal Favorite Body Exfoliator:

Lets face it that Spring is almost here and it is time to start  removing the winter dry dull dead skin cells from the body. No matter how much we moisturize the dead cells build on the skin do to the weather. I have tried many different "scrubs" but this seems to be one of my favorites. Besides for being all natural, other benefits for making this scrub are that you can make it fresh at home, it is quick and easy to make,  you save money, and there is plenty more for later. It consists of sea salt, coconut oil, lemon, and mint leaves. The sea salt acts as the exfoliator, the coconut oil is the moisturizer, the lemon contains enzymes that remove dead cells, and the mint is rich in Vitamin A which replenishes the skin. This great combination smells terrific and will leave your skin feeling silky soft during and after use.

Tip: Remove dead skin cells from the body
You will need: Sea salt, coconut oil, lemon, and fresh mint leaves
Mix: 2 cups of sea salt, 1 1/2 cups of coconut oil, squeeze two lemons (use only the juice), and a half a cup of  fresh mint leaves: Mix everything together and blend. Place in container.
Apply: Enjoy and use all over the body in the shower
Results: Soft, Silky, Fresh skin

Have a great weekend, take some personal time for yourself, and I will have a new insight on Monday!

There is No Time like the Present!

Timing is Everything

I have always been fascinated with time and all the concepts and cliches that go along with it. Time is amazing because it never stops, always moves forward, and never waits for anyone. We are all connected through time and although we repeat the same hours everyday, go through the same schedule of 7 days a week, and live 365 days a year, no day or time is or will ever be alike. Even though we are all connected under the concept of time, the affects of time work differently for everyone. Whether a person experiences a  loss of a job, loved one, or a relationship the healing time varies depending on any given situation. Just like the patience needed for healing the same is true when it comes to receiving. I believe that everyone is placed in certain situations, at certain times, for certain reasons in their lives and time works with with them accordingly. One thing is for sure that the present is a gift and the future is not promised. So if there is something that you want to do or say... then trust yourself, don't hold back, and be free to express and create. Time is too precious too be wasted or delayed. Lastly, I believe time will work with you if you work with it; but remember time works on its own schedule and speed so be patient and let it do its thing.

Enjoy your day and use your time wisely!

Welcome to Insights by Ish!

Welcome to Insights by Ish! My name is Ashmin Ram and I am truly so excited to be launching my blog as of today (March 1, 2011). A big dream with the combination of faith and belief has lead me to this point and I would just like to thank everyone for their love and support. For those wondering what "Ish" is, it is just a nickname given to me by close family and friends that I have chosen to use for this blog simply because it had a better ring too it! I have created this page to bring two things together that I feel passionate about: Empowerment and Beauty. I feel that everyone in life needs a place to get reassurance, encouragement, and a few good beauty tips. My goal is to create an atmosphere/page where people can look and feel good about themselves internally and externally. I try to focus and see the "silver lining" in every situation also I believe that everything in life happens for a reason and every outcome from an experience varies depending on how We Choose to perceive the situation. But it is not just about our thoughts and perceptions but also on how we take care of ourselves. Self value is self esteem! I am a little bit into everything when it comes to the beauty world but mostly skin obsessed! I love too research and try new things to get the most flawless and glowing skin. I am sure a majority of us feel this way but don't have the time to do all the research and would just prefer to try the remedies that work. Well this is why I created the Polished 2 Perfection section, I figure since I already do the research that I can my share my beauty tips and remedies so that everyone can have great skin and be Polished 2 Perfection. I look forward to writing and will do my best to deliver the best quality insights and beauty tips to all my readers. Thank you and enjoy!
