Skin Toner: Needed or Not?

There is actually quite a debate between dermatologists and estheticians when it comes to skin toner. Some say it is absolutely necessary and the others say it is optional. After doing some research, I say that anything that contributes to more radiance for your skin should be included in your skin care routine. Toner is like an assistant to your cleanser, anything the the cleanser misses out on the toner will take care of. The purpose of a toner is to remove any leftover makeup, clean cleanser residue, close pores, and to prevent any infection or absorption of bacteria from entering the skin. The benefits of using a good toner is that it will improve the look of your skin by tightening the pores, the cleansiness makes the skin look more rejuvenated with a glow, restores the natural PH balance for the skin, and with regular use it can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So there you have it, the functions of a toner; it is your preference whether you use it or not but personally I love the way my toner does a deep clean for my skin and maintains its PH balance. The only thing that I would recommend is using a alcohol free toner that does not dry out the skin and stay as natural based as you can!

Goodbye NYC / Hello MIAMI !!!!!!

I have had such a wonderful trip here in NYC and I thank this wonderful city for being so great to me. I have experienced so many new places, restaurants, and events. The street lights have inspired me, the Gala events have motivated me, and the fast pace has helped me pick up my own movement towards my goals. I learned a lot on this trip and was exposed to many new things. I think being in NYC at this stage of my life definitely allowed me to appreciate the variety in this city; furthermore, my openness to receive contributed to the exposure that I have experienced. The theme for this trip was to make magic and indeed the magic happened! My journey continues to a new destination which is Miami. I have never been but am looking forward to another new and blessed adventure!

Until Next time NYC!!!!!!

New York City is a fashion empire and it has been a pleasure for me to be surrounded by this environment filled with constant sheik fashion. From all major brand name stores to small boutiques they all share one thing in common when it comes to fashion and that is: it is always hot, in style, and trendy. Everyday men and women dress very well and versatile to be prepared for anything that may arise in this city filled with opportunity. Here are a few quick fixes that I observed and picked up on that will help anyone be prepared for any occasion at anytime.

1. Always Accessorise: ( Men and Women)
-Hats
-Sunglasses
-Scarfs
-Belts
-Jewelry

2. Handbags:
-Carry a seasonal purse

3.Nails
-Fully painted or natural bare (never wear chipped polish)

4. High-Heels
-Always wear or carry a pair of heels, they will dress up any outfit!

Embrace Your Hands and Feet

Besides for getting regular manicures and pedicures for our nails, it is important that we equally take care of our hands and feet regularly. Our hands and feet are such a precious tool on our body that it is very important that we love and take care of them. Our feet carries our body's whole weight and literally takes us from A to B everyday of our life. In addition, our hands are the movement of our daily functions. Here are a few great ways to maintain healthy hands and feet year long.

1. Soak your hands and feet in warm water with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and a capsule of vitamin E for about 15 minutes each = this will rejuvenate the hands and feet, also prevent them from aging

2. Apply a hand or body scrub all over your hands and feet =  this will remove dead skin and refresh the hands and feet

3. Always use a foot  rasp/buffer on your feet in the shower= this will remove any roughness, callus, etc

4. Apply a hydrating lotion to hands and feet=  this will relax the muscles and maintain smoothness of the  skin (you can also apply lotion and wear a pair of socks over it, your hands and feet will be silky soft in the morning)

Love your Hands and Feet!

Moisturizer and Hydration Special

One of the best things that you can do for your skin is to keep it moisturized and well hydrated. Besides for drinking plenty of water, a good moisturizer protects the skin from premature aging, wrinkling, and dryness. Moisturizers usually come in two forms: liquid and cream. Your moisturizer should always have SPF to protect the skin from suns rays and be customized for your skin type. Moisturizers should be applied to the face and neck evenly after cleansing and toning the skin. Here is a simple guideline of how to choose your moisturizer:

*Dry Skin: Rich liquid and cream moisturizers are the the best for this type of skin

*Oily Skin:  A water based oil-free moisturizer

*Sensitive Skin:  Herbal and natural moisturizers that are light and made for sensitive skin

Pick your Moisturizers Wisely!

Courage

Courage is a very important word but not easily understood or practiced.  Courage is the most powerful trait we can bring to any situation but it is one of the most difficult actions to practice.  So what does this powerful word that holds so much weight actually mean? According to dictionary.com, the definition of courage is: the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery. Now what does this mean... For me, I think courage means to be in your own truth! It is the process of being able to listen to your spirit, feel strongly for what it is asking for, and acting upon that. However, the practice of courage is much more difficult because it challenges a person to face the adversity of their fears. It takes the same amount of energy to build the courage to succeed as it takes to accept the terms of failure. However, I truly believe if a person is in their own truth, does not hold back on themselves, then the outcome of any situation cannot lead you wrong.

Have a Blessed day and Be Courageous in All you do!..Ish
