Power of Essential Oils / Aromatherapy

         Our sense of smell is highly sensitive and is perhaps one of our most powerful senses. Smell is the only one of our senses directly hard wired to our brains that can retrieve memories and help calm, uplift, and create balance in the self. I thought it would be important to do an article about essential oils and it naturals elements because I use them in my products and too also explain its positive benefits. Let me begin by explaining: what are essential oils, where do they come from, and what there benefits are. Essential oils are highly-concentrated essences derived from different parts of aromatic plants, including bark, leaves and flowers. The oils are used in a number of ways, from skin-care products to aromatherapy. Essentials oils' properties include killing viruses and bacteria, stimulating the immune system and reducing stress and tension. Each essential oil has a unique set of properties that can be used to provide different positive physical, emotional and mental benefits to their users. Different essential oils have varying properties and can be used for many purposes. Relaxation and Stress Relief

Some essential oils are well-known for their ability to promote stress relief, relaxation, and even induce sleep. It relieves stress and calms the nervous system.


Energy Stimulating

Essential oils have the ability to lift the mood through simply inhaling the aroma. It increases the circulatory system and may stimulate the adrenal glands for increased energy.


Antiseptic

Many essential oils have antiseptic properties, which means that they may be useful for disinfection and for treating bacterial infections.


Easing Sore Muscles

Many essential oils can be mixed with a carrier oil such as grapeseed, almond, or olive oils, and applied directly to the skin on sore areas of the body. Some essential oils are known for their ability to soothe sore muscles and sprains.

Rose and Chamomile Oils

Rose and chamomile are both used extensively in cosmetics and the beauty industry. The heady aroma of rose oil lifts the spirits, eases depression and is especially beneficial in the treatment of wrinkles and dry and mature skin. It helps the healing process and lessens the appearance of scars.
Chamomile oil has a calming effect on the mind and body and is excellent for treating any type of inflammation. As a treatment for the skin, it is particularly effective in the battle against eczema, dry skin and psoriasis. It can also reduce inflammation caused by sprains and pulled muscles.

Lemon Oil

Essential lemon oil's properties include promoting physical and emotional health. Lemon oil powerfully affects mental states. Lemon oil promotes mental clarity, objectivity and greater focus---all positive properties. Its physical properties include aiding in stopping bleeding, killing bacteria and stimulating the body's natural immune response to help more effectively fight infections.

Lavender

Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils and often has a starring role in everything from skin lotion to pillow mist to "green" household cleansers. Lavender promotes rest and relaxation, especially when inhaled. It also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties according to Aroma Web, making it a good remedy for acne, eczema and other skin problems

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus oil has a very distinct, strong aroma and can be used to treat a variety of ailments, including headaches, flu symptoms and muscle pain. When used in a vaporizer, the oil can help open up sinus passages and relieve coughing, sneezing and other respiratory symptoms. To relieve aches and pains, add a few drops to massage oil or bath water


Peppermint

Peppermint oil, with its candy-like aroma, is a great mind stimulator when inhaled, promoting mental clarity and enhancing focus. It also works wonders on headaches and stomach discomfort.

Clary Sage:

 Clary sage is a great cleansing and purifying oil. It relieves anxiety, calms the body, and helps cope with stress. It also is a great hormone balance and can be very helpful for menstrual cramps and easing childbirth.
