Power of Essential Oils / Aromatherapy

Our sense of smell is highly sensitive and is perhaps one of our most powerful senses. Smell is the only one of our senses directly hard wired to our brains that can retrieve memories and help calm, uplift, and create balance in the self. I thought it would be important to do an article about essential oils and it naturals elements because I use them in my products and too also explain its positive benefits. Let me begin by explaining: what are essential oils, where do they come from, and what there benefits are. Essential oils are highly-concentrated essences derived from different parts of aromatic plants, including bark, leaves and flowers. The oils are used in a number of ways, from skin-care products to aromatherapy. Essentials oils' properties include killing viruses and bacteria, stimulating the immune system and reducing stress and tension. Each essential oil has a unique set of properties that can be used to provide different positive physical, emotional and mental benefits to their users. Different essential oils have varying properties and can be used for many purposes. Some main purposes are listed below:

Relaxation and Stress Relief

Some essential oils are well-known for their ability to promote stress relief, relaxation, and even induce sleep. It relieves stress and calms the nervous system.

Energy Stimulating

Essential oils have the ability to lift the mood through simply inhaling the aroma. It increases the circulatory system and may stimulate the adrenal glands for increased energy.

Antiseptic

Many essential oils have antiseptic properties, which means that they may be useful for disinfection and for treating bacterial infections.

Easing Sore Muscles

Many essential oils can be mixed with a carrier oil such as grapeseed, almond, or olive oils, and applied directly to the skin on sore areas of the body. Some essential oils are known for their ability to soothe sore muscles and sprains.

Few Favorite Essential Oils:

Rose and Chamomile Oils

Rose and chamomile are both used extensively in cosmetics and the beauty industry. The heady aroma of rose oil lifts the spirits, eases depression and is especially beneficial in the treatment of wrinkles and dry and mature skin. It helps the healing process and lessens the appearance of scars.
Chamomile oil has a calming effect on the mind and body and is excellent for treating any type of inflammation. As a treatment for the skin, it is particularly effective in the battle against eczema, dry skin and psoriasis. It can also reduce inflammation caused by sprains and pulled muscles.

Lemon Oil

Essential lemon oil's properties include promoting physical and emotional health. Lemon oil powerfully affects mental states. Lemon oil promotes mental clarity, objectivity and greater focus---all positive properties. Its physical properties include aiding in stopping bleeding, killing bacteria and stimulating the body's natural immune response to help more effectively fight infections.

Lavender

Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils and often has a starring role in everything from skin lotion to pillow mist to "green" household cleansers. Lavender promotes rest and relaxation, especially when inhaled. It also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties according to Aroma Web, making it a good remedy for acne, eczema and other skin problems

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus oil has a very distinct, strong aroma and can be used to treat a variety of ailments, including headaches, flu symptoms and muscle pain. When used in a vaporizer, the oil can help open up sinus passages and relieve coughing, sneezing and other respiratory symptoms. To relieve aches and pains, add a few drops to massage oil or bath water

Peppermint

Peppermint oil, with its candy-like aroma, is a great mind stimulator when inhaled, promoting mental clarity and enhancing focus. It also works wonders on headaches and stomach discomfort.

Clary Sage:

Clary sage is a great cleansing and purifying oil. It relieves anxiety, calms the body, and helps cope with stress. It also is a great hormone balance and can be very helpful for menstrual cramps and easing childbirth.

KEEP IT "SPF" SAFE!

We are in the midst of summer and the sun is beaming at its brightest.  As much as the warm sun feels great and the weather is uplifting, it is VERY important to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun's rays. 90% of premature aging and skin cancer stems from being exposed to the ultraviolet lights from the sun's radiation. Sunscreen should be applied year round, yes summer and winter too to protect your face and body from some painful lessons.
Protect your skin from the following by using sunscreen today:

* Skin Cancer

*Sunburns

*Blistering

* Overall Sun Damage

*Wrinkles and dull skin

* Loss of Skin Elasticity and radiance

Tea + Skin = Benefits

WHITE TEA:
White tea — which is made from only the delicate buds of the tea plant — has the highest levels of antioxidants, which protect against harmful free radicals.  White tea has high amounts of substances that protect elastin and collagen, proteins in our skin that maintain skin elasticity. Extracts in white tea exert an anti-inflammatory effect that slows the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers -- that skin needs to stay firm and wrinkle-free.

GREEN TEA:
This tea contains polyphenols which have anti-inflammatory characteristics. It works as an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory agent that helps fight free radicals from sun, weather conditions, and environmental factors that make our skin age early. It protects the skin and prevents pre-mature aging.

ROSEHIP TEA:
Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant and are one of the best plant sources of vitamin C, which is important for the immune system, skin and tissue health and adrenal function.  Rose hip tea is anti-aging, as it heals tissues and cells, while its antioxidant property fights cell damage due to free radicals. It also tones the organs and regenerates cells. Excellent source for skin hydration and circulation.

BLACK TEA:
Black tea is made from the dried leaves of Camellia Sinensis which is a perennial green shrub. Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea are all derived from the same plant. Black tea is also rich in antioxidants, vitamins E and C and help to fight free radicals that cause pre-mature aging

Why Water?

9 Powerful Reasons to More Drink Water:
Water makes up more than half of our body weight and we need to drink a lot of water to allow the body to function properly.  It is suggested... to determine how much water one should drink, divide your body weight in half and convert the remaining number in ounces. Whatever that number is,  is how much water you should be drinking a day.  Check out some important reasons why:

     1.   Energy
Dehydration can lead to fatigueness, muscle weakness, and dizziness. Drinking more water will increase your energy!

2. Weight loss
Water is one of the best tools for weight loss.  Water has no fat, no calories, no carbs, no sugar. It replaces high-calorie drinks like soda and juice.  Drink plenty of water to help your weight-loss regimen.

3. Healthy Heart
Drinking a good amount of water could lower your risks of a heart attack.
4. Headache cure
Drinking water reduces headaches. Another symptom of dehydration is headaches. Sometimes headaches are a result of drinking a lack of water.

5.  Healthy skin
Skin is the largest cell in the body and research shows that  drinking water can clear up blemishes and acne.  Also once the skin is properly hydrated, there is a nautural healthy glow that refelects from the skin.

6.  Age Defying
